The Missouri campus sits in Kansas City, with an on-campus recreation and access to the metro’s parks, trails, and venues close at hand. Physical education is five days a week: fitness center sessions, aerobics and water aerobics in season, jogging, and recreational volleyball, softball, basketball, and soccer.

Girls live on campus with round-the-clock staff, attend our accredited academy, and follow the same structured daily schedule found at every Heartland location. Leadership opportunities add responsibility as each girl earns it, and student leaders help prep, serve, and clean up home-cooked meals in the campus kitchen.

Family involvement is built in through planned family weekends on campus, where parents meet with their daughter’s primary care staff, join parent support groups and workshops, and celebrate at graduation. A local equine program, with trained facilitators is an experience that every young girl looks forward to participating in during their time here.

Unique to Missouri

Every campus shares the program. This is what Missouri adds.

Academics, mentoring, counseling, team challenges, community meals: the core is the same at every location. These are the experiences that give Missouri its own character.

01

Physical education, five days a week

Our students have the unique opportunity to train with the KC Royals right here at our facility, receiving hands-on coaching, instruction, and encouragement from leaders in their organization. Throughout the year, our students will also have the opportunity to participate in several competition games, giving them a chance to build confidence, teamwork, discipline, and a healthy sense of accomplishment. In addition to softball, students receive weekday PE, on-campus aerobics, water aerobics in season, jogging, etc. Girls leave stronger than they arrived, and the routine steadies everything else.

Monthly Service Projects

Each month, our students participate in service projects that give them opportunities to look beyond themselves and serve others in the community. These experiences help teach humility, compassion, responsibility, and the importance of living with purpose by putting their faith into action.

Equine Therapy – Fall & Spring

Our Equine Therapy program provides students with meaningful opportunities to work with horses while developing trust, responsibility, emotional awareness, and communication skills. Offered during both the fall and spring, this hands-on experience gives our girls a unique environment to grow personally while building healthy connections and learning to care for others.

Activities

A full week, on campus and off.

Fitness, the arts, city outings, and time with horses are woven into the schedule so that structure never feels like standing still.

On campus

Equine program

Girls work with horses under trained facilitators, learning calm, assertive communication. A horse gives honest feedback: if her attitude is off, he will not follow her lead.

Off campus & faith

Everything above sits on the full Heartland program.

Accredited academics, group mentoring, one-on-one counseling, team challenges, and community meals are the daily foundation at every campus.
